Job Summary

A member of the Water Park Operations team who assists in providing an exceptional experience to Atlantis guests, through positive interaction, anticipation of needs, and overall quality service. Respond to all emergencies within assigned zones, with specific focus on Waterfront (Beach) areas.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

– Perform opening, operating and closing duties according to the guidelines set by the Water Park Operations department. These duties include:
o Monitor guest activity within area of responsibility to ensure a continual safe environment.
o Respond to all emergencies within assigned zones, with specific focus on Waterfront (Beach) areas.
o Utilize trained techniques including operation of watercraft and rescue boards to enter water and assist or rescue individuals that require aid.
o Administer First Aid and/or CPR during emergency situations.
o Recognize hazardous situations and behaviors and promptly respond accordingly.
o Assist in removal and retention of guests during pool or beach evacuation procedures.
o Manually control the motorized ride lift operation by utilizing a mechanical ride control switchboard to start, stop and evacuate motorized ride lifts. Utilize trained emergency action plan techniques to properly conduct ride evacuation and safety protocols.
o Manually control motorized ride dispatch station operation by utilizing a mechanical ride dispatch switchboard to safely launch riders onto the slides. Utilize trained emergency action plan techniques to properly conduct ride evacuation and safety protocols.
o Closely supervise all ride activity on live video monitors located in the video control room. Utilize trained emergency action plan techniques to properly conduct ride evacuation and safety protocols.
o Completely abide by and enforce all Water Park and beach rules and regulations.
o Conduct and lead morning physical conditioning and exercises.
o Perform equipment checks to ensure equipment is in proper condition and good working order.
o Participate in all required development activities and in-service training sessions
o Participate in all written and practical audits maintaining satisfactory skill level according to Innovative Attraction Management.
o Maintain cleanliness and organization of work location
o Retrieve lost articles from pools/rides as necessary.
o Conduct pool chemical readings throughout the day to verify safe operating levels (take out this part).
– Perform other related duties as required by the management team, including preparation for special events and severe inclement weather.
– Attend meetings and/or training sessions as requested by the management team.
– Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
– Create a working environment free of discord and ensures open communication with all internal and external customers.
– Perform other reasonable duties required by management.

Requirements

– Must have a successful performance recorded as a Water Safety Specialist 2 for at least 6 months, or equivalent experience
– Must obtain and maintain Innovative Attraction management Waterfront Lifeguard certification
– Must obtain and maintain Innovative Attraction management Lifeguard certification
– Must obtain and maintain Innovative Attraction management Basic Water Rescue certification
– Extensive knowledge of the English language and mathematics
– Must be able to pass company pre-qualification testing procedures
– Must be capable of properly operating rescue watercraft
– Must be comfortable performing assigned duties, with limited supervision
